Why Movement Testing?

Movement assessments can provide a detailed snapshot of current health, which can help your health professional identify specific movement patterns that may be limiting potential or creating greater risk for injury. With repeated testing, a timeline of progress can be used to monitor improvement or regression in the relevant areas of physical health.

Walking Speed

Walking speed is associated with survival among older adults in individual epidemiological cohort studies and has been shown to reflect health and functional status.

Stride Length

With increasing walking speed (and increasing stride length), larger spinal rotations may cause a person with low back pain to walk slower or with shorter strides.

Ground Contact Time

Ground contact time is related to both running efficiency and maximal running speeds in elite distance runners, with differences between genders and distance specialties.

Jump Height

Jump height is associated with lower body power production and has been shown to correlate with 30m sprint times and 1RM back squat.

Asymmetry

When comparing well-trained athletes who had had previous injury and those who had not, GCT asymmetries were significantly higher for the previous injury group in high intensity, short duration runs.

Reactive Strength Index

RSI is a measure of plyometric explosiveness and can be used for training optimization and monitoring.
