Vertical Landing Acceleration Asymmetry
A measure of the difference in Vertical Landing Acceleration between feet. High VLA asymmetry (>15%) occurs when landing more abruptly on one limb compared to the other. This can mean either poor impact absorption on one side, or a protective strategy to offload one side.
Asymmetry measures are best used in conjunction with a baseline for each individual, as every person has inherent asymmetries.
