Jump Height (Maximum)

Maximum jump height is the greatest vertical displacement of the centre of mass, based on flight time of the feet. Cyclic jump height is a commonly used performance measure as it reflects power production around the ankle. Changes in jump height can be an indicator for neuromuscular fatigue.

Cyclic jumps and postactivation potentiation - Performing 10 cyclic hops before a drop jump activity increased jump height by 12%, likely due to postactivation potentiation of the triceps surae.

Bergmann, Julian, Kramer, Andreas, & Gruber, Markus. (2013). Repetitive hops induce postactivation potentiation in triceps surae as well as an increase in the jump height of subsequent maximal drop jumps. PloS One, 8(10), e77705–e77705. https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0077705
