Horizontal Impact

 

The peak accelerations in the world horizontal plane as the foot contacts the ground.

Horizontal Impact is calculated every time the foot contact the ground, and is a means of quantifying strategy used to absorb energy.

Note that Horizontal Impact is different from the y-axis signal, because the y-axis changes orientation as the foot moves through space. Horizontal Impact is purely parallel to the ground.
